Default Spirit Boon Oni Farmer idea. [monk]

Was browsing the warrior builds, and i came up with an idea for farming Oni...

Mo/Me

Arcane Echo
Spell Breaker {Elite}
Spirit bond
Life Attunement
Holy Wrath
Retribution
Blessed Aura ----> Edit: As I laid in bed, I realized Essense Bond/Balthazars Spirit would be better here. Re-ReEdit: Then again. Maybe not with Holy Wrath sucking up your energy... I don't know, you guys figure it out.
Blessed Signet

Anyways. Pop on all your enchantments, regen your mana with signet, and run to the spawn spot.

Just before you aggro them, arcane echo, Spell Breaker, then Spirit bond...

Aggro away and watch them kill themselves super fast.

Depending on your energy pool, you should be able to do it all... I think... This is just a rough idea mind you. Please feel free to rip it to shreds if you want.

Edit: Crapola, I just realized I totally put this in the wrong thread. Sorry mods...

I think this'll work just about anywhere too where you can get monsters to do atleast 60 damage to you. But it was more intended for Oni's

I tried a build similar to this to solo the UW a while back (its very hard to do, as it requires both Spirit bond and Protective spirit). Thing is, with 4 maintain enchantments blessed sig gives you 12 energy, not enough to cast Spell Breaker after 18 seconds (before it gets taken by arcane echo ending). Once you get hit 4 times you are essentially out of energy from holy wrath. The only way to conceviably pull this off is to switch to reserve energy and hope you get SB off fast enough. However reserve energy gives you energy degen, and you would be stripped of 1 or even 2 of your upkeep enchantments in 2 seconds flat. You *could* use a -5 energy sword and a non max offhand as primary with a +5 energy sword and max offhand on secondary though.

Problem is that even with a 20% weapon and Blessed Aura I believe (and I am not 100% sure on this) spirit bond only lasts 14-15 seconds. The turn around on Blessed signet is 10 seconds, while the cast time is 2 seconds. Which means that you can't use Blessed signet to gain energy for casting SB or you will die. So once you use up the echo SB you won't have another opportunity to cast it. Now, if you get hit while switching weapons and trying to cast SB, you won't even get to cast it from the echo. Another issue is if the oni have interrupting abilities (which I do not know for sure), it will be difficult to cast SB while under fire from 3+ oni at once.

Further issues arise if you get hit for less than 60 damage. With no ability to heal yourself, you will die unless they hit you for 60+ damage half the time. So finding the right armor is an issue. Too high defense and you will take too little damage, and wind up dieing over time.

So IMO, arcane echo can be dropped (and should be) leaving a free slot and a free secondary. Warrior and bonetti's defense can be a life saver if things go wrong (get 2 blocks and you have yourself 10 energy for spirit bond).

Also try just using retribution. It may be a slower kill but there is less chance for failure.

thats just my 2 cents

Protective Spirit
Spirit Bond
Remove Hex
Retribution
Balthazar's Spirit

With those 5 skills, you should be able to solo a theoretically infinite number of Oni's... unless they outheal you. Maybe add in some more smiting, like SOJ.

Holy Wrath will triple the kill speed... use Bonetti's Defense if you are brave, and want to try to use Holy Wrath.

I tried it, I ran blessed aura, life attunement, holy wrath, retribution, prot spirit, spirit bond, and spellbreaker, and blessed sig.

It kills them super fast but after the first spirit bond runs off your done. You use blessed sig and you got the 3/4 second finger up the a$$ period and all your energy is long gone.

Also the game obviously has some programming issues (big surprise). I put up prot spirit then take off my bp... granted you still die. Yeah gotta be some major programming issues there. Might have to dump hp down a tiny bit for the extra % gain from spirit bond. I'm about to try dumping arcane echo in the original build for bonettis, statistically bonettis should gain more energy than you lose but who the hell knows, so many things wrong with this game its rediculous.

Btw I've been testing this on the 4 oni just inside the zone. I can't get to the bridge with this build, let alone shake the outcasts =\

Yeah, I've tried using a 55 monk and a spirit bond monk; both failed miserably, Shadow Shroud owns enchantments. So I got a brilliant idea and used a Necro instead. Initially, I soloed the 3-4 Oni outside Zos Shivros with 15 DP with a traditional 55 SS Necro build. Then I got an even more brilliant idea and scrapped that idea completely. Check out the results:

1st Group
2nd Group

I love Rhea's Crater.

Um, I never had Prot spirit in the original build.

I realized the energy issue after I had originally posted it. Technically, you can get away without using Holy Wrath... Just use Retribution, and Arcane Echo for Spell Breaker with Blessed Aura, a Totem Axe, and use Essense and Balthazars Aura.

So basically, you can try:

1. Spirit Bond
2. Arcane Echo
3. Spell Breaker
4. Zealots Fire -- Additional damage every time you cast Spirit Bond. It should be time enough to not trigger the AoE effect
5. Retribution
6. Essense Bond
7. Balthazars Spirit
8. Blessed Aura

The most difficult part of this is finding armor that keeps them doing 60 damage to you, and not much more than that.

Prot spirit is only used if you're running low health. That's be more of a 340hp Spirit build. Then you'd use SOJ and Retribution. (Which might I add is my current troll build).

Bonnetti's has potential. Maybe, if you did something like...

1. Spirit Bond
2. Blessed Signet
3. Spell Breaker
4. Life Attunement
5. Retribution
6. Holy Wrath
7. Essense Bond/Balthazars Aura
8. Blessed Aura

Now this is a little more tricky, because I don't know if the Oni use Disrupting Stab... If they DO, this won't work. But if they DON'T... Well, that's a whole different story.

You do NOT need to keep Holy Wrath up the entire time, I don't know how long SB lasts with Blessed Aura, and a Totem Axe. But I'm sure it's longer than 8 seconds.

Step 1. Cast your 4 main enchantments: Essense/balthazars, Blessed Aura, Retribution, Life Attunement.

Step 2. Regenerate mana with Blessed Signet.

Step 3. Cast SpellBreaker then Aggro Oni(I've never done it myself, I don't know what's involved. I'm just coming up with the idea). At this point, you should be wanting to take around 70-80 damage every hit. With Life Attunement and Spirit bond, you should be healing for far MORE than you are taking. Also you want as HIGH a life total as possible while doing this.

Step 4. (This is where inturrupts are a problem) While in combat under the protection of spell breaker, you recast your Spirit Bond, and then cast your Holy Wrath, and DROP Blessed Aura.

Step 5. Wait... 6-8 seconds. That should be a buncha damage they're doing to themselves... Hopefully SB lasts about 12 seconds with all the longer enchants.

Step 6. DROP Holy Wrath... Everyone seems to forget you can stop maintaining an enchantment... and Recast your Blessed Aura after your energy regens.

Step 7. By this point, Spellbreaker should be dropping off, but it won't matter. You'll be more or less done by then. Say Sprit bond last 12 seconds with all bonus +enchantment length... That's 24 seconds of Spirit bond, of which 22 seconds will be under Holy Wrath, and Retribution... That's 22 normal attacks assuming they don't get an IAS from Demonic Ability. I know they get 100% double attacks. So really it boils down to 44 attacks in 22 seconds due to Demonic Ability, Lets say they do 80 damage... That's almost 80 being reflected back to them between the two enchantments... I don't know the number, I haven't actually tried it yet.

I dunno. Looks good here on screen.
